The mouthfill technique is used to equalise the middle ear at great depth and beyond. It also is of great value for diving with small initial lung volume (going down with much less than a full “in breath”).
This workshop is meant for divers who want to overcome their equalisation problems beyond 50, or 60 or 65 meters of depth, as well as for the divers who want to grow the space accessible to them on “exhale”.
Starting out to learn this different way to equalise is a good chunk of unlearning. It is the fine coordination of repetitive Frenzel manouvers that has to be unlearned. This fine coordination is necessarily highly automised because it ensured until now, that we are able to clear our middle ear always in time… here we go.
